Form-Focused Content-Based Instruction in the Dual Language Classroom: Part II

This two-session interactive workshop will take teachers through a process of developing an instructional sequence to help dual language learners process language through noticing, awareness, and production activities that are linked to subject matter content. After viewing multiple teacher-developed examples, participants will select a problematic linguistic feature and develop noticing, awareness, and controlled practice activities to help learners better understand and improve their ability to accurately produce the problematic feature. Throughout the process, they will share their ideas and receive feedback from other participants as well as the workshop facilitator. Participants are asked to bring computers and to attend both sessions.
